Food Server Assistant (Job #241)

Department: Development

Status: On-call, Part-time, Non-Exempt

Approximate hours will total 40 hours during each monthly pledge periods: March, June, September and December. Additional times required for special pledge times during February, May and October. Weeknights required and some weekends.

Purpose: Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages to KCTS 9 pledge volunteers and crew member to reach more people, build a strong organization and make a positive impact in the community

 

KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

 
  1. Prepare and serve food and beverages to pledge volunteers and crew
  2. Some light cooking and preparation of side dishes, and the service of entrees brought in by a caterer or restaurant donation
  3. Prepare snack trays and beverages for Green Room on-air talent and special studio guests
  4. Keep track of food and inventory supplies and prepare appropriate shopping lists
  5. Restock kitchen supplies
  6. Clean dishes, general clean-up, and trash removal
  7. Performs other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES

  1. High School diploma or equivalent experience required
  2. Valid King County Health Department food service permit required
  3. Knowledge about food service safety, rules and hygiene required
  4. Prior customer service or food server experience preferred
  5. Regularly report to work as scheduled
  6. Work independently and collaboratively to accomplish responsibilities, goals and projects
  7. Follow company policies and procedures
  8. Model and promote KCTS 9 Core Competencies and Norms of Behavior
  9. Organize time, materials, and information for efficient access and use
10. Maintain records and confidentiality appropriately
11. Exhibit good communication skills through effective writing, speaking and listening

13. Adapt performance as priorities and circumstances change
