To Forgive is Divine

A Sikh cab driver is senselessly and brutally beaten by a drunk passenger who mistakes him for an “Iraqi terrorist.” Despite a month in the hospital recovering from kidney failure, bites, bruises and cuts, Sukhvir Singh found it in his heart to forgive his attacker. On the next KCTS 9 Connects, Enrique Cerna talks with Singh about the violent assault that nearly took his life; how he deals with the daily discrimination from those who can’t see past his turban or the color of his skin; and why he decided not just to forgive his assailant, but also ask the judge to be lenient.

An Interview with Fareed Zakaria

KCTS 9's Enrique Cerna talks one-on-one with Newsweek International editor Fareed Zakaria. Zakaria is the author of several books, including the New York Times bestseller The Future of Freedom. In his latest book, The Post-American World, Fareed writes about why America’s dominance in the world may be on the decline. How should the United States understand and thrive in this rapidly changing international climate? What does it mean to live in a truly global era? Zakaria will tell us how the next era may play out.
